How much does it cost?  Annual dues vary by state and range from about $50 to $85.   

Do members wear a uniform?  CAP members have the privilege of wearing a uniform.  Your local unit can provide more information about uniform requirements. 

What is the time commitment?  Members volunteer as much time as they are able and willing to give.  Members meet as often as once a week or as little as once a month. 

I’m not a pilot; what will I do in CAP?  Most CAP members do not fly and participate in many other volunteer positions.  Adult members work with youth, assist with search and rescue or complete administrative duties required to keep the unit running.   

Am I considered a member of the military?  No.  CAP members are civilians and under no obligation to the military.
